Ah Japan. Land of the Rising Sun. Birthplace of animator Hayao Miyazaki, actor Ken Watanabe, and director Akira Kurosawa. Home of Godzilla, Mount Fuji, Tanukis, Plumbing brothers Mario and Luigi, and Totoro. Not to mention the delicious sushi.
If you think all of that sounds pretty great, well, we’re here to tell you that it really is that great!
Did we mention the sushi? What about the tempura? RAMEN?!
But how did the Japan we know become the Japan of Nintendo, and the bright lights of Tokyo? A long-ago place of Samurai and Geisha? Easy Peasy! Let’s look at some history and figure it out!
