Hundreds of torch-wielding Indian men try to set each other ablaze... to appease Hindu goddess

Hundreds of men threw burning palm leaves at each other in Mangalore in an attempt to set one another alight to appease the Hindu goddess Durga.

Devotees gathered at the temple of Durga to celebrate Agni Keli, also known as the 'fire fight.' The tradition takes place over an eight-day period.

The fiery action attracts thousands of spectators, who watch as the torch-wielding men try to set each other ablaze.
