When it comes to success with fasting, people like to talk about discipline. It seems logical to think that having discipline would improve your chances of succeeding with the Snake Diet. But what if it was actually something else?

For example, if I held a gun to your head and told you that I would pull the trigger if you ate something, would it require discipline to fast? Probably not.

Why? Because you had enough of a reason not to eat. The benefit of fasting would outweigh the benefits of eating.

Our entire lives come down to the same concept. When you have something that you want badly enough, it doesn't require discipline to make it happen. You just want it bad enough that the work almost feels effortless.

If you are struggling with weight loss, then it's because you don't have strong enough reasons to lose the weight. This might sound strange because you probably think to yourself, "Well I don't like being fat, so of course I have a strong reason to fast."

But do you really? Is being fat really causing you significant stress ALL THE TIME? Probably not. It probably causes you pain for a few minutes a day when you're not distracted with work, your family, TV, or some other distraction.
