Similar to the way a callous develops after years of lifting weights. Mat burns initial start but eventually are covered up by hardened skin that is resistant to the burns.
In today's video I answer a question from Max who is having trouble with mat burns on his toes. He says his BJJ training is going great and he doesn't plan to stop. But he wants to know if I have any tips for dealing with mat burns.
He's tried taping them up but the tape seems to fall off during sweaty rounds of rolling.
So in this video I share a really simple fix to covering up your mat burns so that you can roll but don't have to mess with lots of tape or other forms of bandages.
Hope this helps some of you newbies out there with the beginnings of Brazilian Jiujitsu and the mat burn that comes with it.
