Humpback Whales are most often killed in Alaska by large ship strikes

Humpback Whales are most often killed in Alaska by large ship strikes Calf whale pectoral fin slapping as a ferry passes very near it. I’m sure the little whale was worried. The whale was not struck and lived to love another day. Large ships sometimes do not see whales and in some cases very large ships do not alter their course when viewing wildlife. My guess is this captain didn’t know there was a whale there even though I was captaining a whale watching vessel and was stopped viewing the whale nearby
