Simply put god is the truth because no matter what you choose to believe it is the truth that decides your fate not what you believe.....but just ignore what you don’t want to believe because it does not fit into your chosen FAITH BASED belief ... because like the first words god spoke to me say... god said to me “I CANNOT PROVE TO YOU THAT I EXIST” tell me that is not the truth... and if you care I can tell you why god cannot do that.......because proving he exists is forcing us to believe in him like puppets or robots or slaves.... which brings us to the second thing God said to me that we must be free to “ believing in me is a choice “ Funny how I recognized the Truth in those two things god first said to me so when he said this third thing imagine my response “choose now what you want to believe” we’ll I wanted to believe the truth was god.... and eventually I discovered it is indeed the truth that decides our fate based on our choice of action which is predicated on our choice of thoughts we choose to believe... good luck with that.
