A Florida man was hiking near his home in Tampa when he heard the whine of a dog. Joe Dunn was deep in the Withlacoochee State Forest when he heard the animal howling. When he got closer, he saw the dog stuck in a cave. With no rope to climb down and poor cellphone reception, Dunn angled a tree stump into the cave, hoping the dog could use it to climb out. When that plan didn't work, he decided to hike four miles out of the state forest to get help.
