Recent research has revealed how local journalists are overwhelmed, underpaid and lack support at work. Compiled by the Wits Journalism Project, the State of the Newsroom Report 2018 gives insight into how media houses are struggling to keep afloat due to the current economic climate. Not only does this put more pressure on journalists, it has also lead to countless job losses in the industry.
