With his quest complete and the last kin of Temperance’s murderers snuffed the Count expected a victorious release, his bloodlust finally satiated. But as time rolled on the hunger remained, more urgent than ever before. His sleep cycles grew longer, forcing the vulnerable Count to retreat. Taking to the seas, secretly stowed away upon the Demeter his "servants" would feed him lost and stranded sailors to preserve his strength. Eventually, by nature or by human hand, all life on Earth came to an end. The Count awoke, adrift upon a dying, empty planet, starving and alone…
