The NPA is to probe whether President Cyril Ramaphosa's CR17 campaign was used to launder money. The Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane found that Ramaphosa deliberately misled parliament and violated the Executive Ethics Code. She released a report that found that Ramaphosa lied about a 500-thousand Bosasa donation to his campaign. She raised suspicions of money laundering. The complaint was laid by DA leader Mmusi Maimane, EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu, and a whistle-blower. Meanwhile. Political parties have responded to the Public Protector's findings that the President deliberately misled the National Assembly and violated the code of ethics.
