Tropical depression 6E has formed, and expected to become a tropical depression in the next 6-12 hours or so, and become a hurricane within the next few days as it moves steadily WNW. Invest 90E East of it could potential he be a much stronger hurricane than Erick, and possibly pose a significant impact to the big Island of Hawaii, according to most models, including the GFS and the ECMWF, it may encounter some wind shear as it gets into the big Island but could possibly be a hurricane by the time it makes a possible direct hit. But the track and intensity on both of these systems are very uncertain, and the steering currents are very large and could be sneaky at times, One could threaten Hawaii, and one could head south harmlessly and turn out to sea due to a trough. Hawaii needs to keep close eye on these systems and consider getting your preparations into gear if necessary.
