In all seriousness, let me elaborate on a specific point I had that mods take up a majority of the [newer] game content in FTD:
I think it's fine and all to incorporate features into the game that the majority of the community seem to enjoy, but it creates a lot of problems if you don't think it through.
1. The most major issue is complexity. The more complex the game is, the more difficult any task will become, especially for newer players. Sure, it's nice to have new things, but it can be cluttered if you don't organize it all. You can see a good example of this by just going into the Decorations section of the build menu.
This is also why I actually am VERY against adding preset AI cards to the game -- it would NEEDLESSLY clutter the game. More blocks and more tooltips to read. Stop catering to the convenience of long-time FTD players when you're making it harder for new players to understand the game.
2. It makes development seem objectively lazy and uninspired. When most major features come from adopting mods into the game, as well as adopting the modders into the dev team, it shows a lack of seriousness with the game, since there isn't enough effort or initiative put in to the game to warrant original features or thought-out updates with a clear goal.
