Of course in 1960, almost every advertiser had Caucasian people only in their print and TV ads 1960 was the year where the baby boom generation was coming into its own. Cars were very important in those days and symbols of success like no other. This wonderful car commercial speaks of that time. It is part of my collection of films from that era, my youth, that I used to create my television series, Making Sense of the Sixties. Watching this commercial now, it seems ancient--from another time, and it was. That is not correct Hyper Bowl. I am a filmmaker historian looking at this from a historical perspective. The fact that there were only Caucasian people in commercials at this time is an interesting historical fact which changed during this time period. If you think that advertising to a segment of the population is smart from an advertising perspective, that is your opinion. Mine is that the most inclusive commercials would be wise to include Americans from all segments of society, as Coke and Pepsi and others did.
