Ed Woodward was spotted appearing to tell Phil Jones off during Manchester United's 2-0 defeat by West Ham on Sunday. Sky Sports cameras picked out the Red Devils centre-back appearing to mutter something under his breath during the match at London Stadium. United's executive vice-chairman immediately turned around and uttered something back. Viewers have speculated that Woodward said: "We're on camera, stop," but it cannot be confirmed that this is definitely true. However, Woodward did appear to be irritated by something. Phil Jones wasn't even in the squad for Manchester United's clash with West Ham this Sunday, despite not carrying an injury. The centre-back has fallen down the pecking order at an alarming rate at Old Trafford with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to him on the pitch and Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo on the bench. The Red Devils fell behind to West Ham moments before half time thanks to an Andriy Yarmolenko effort on Sunday. West Ham were much the better team in the second half and were in complete control before Aaron Cresswell doubled their advantage with a stunning free-kick with five minutes to go. "It's always a difficult ground to go to and we hoped to do better than we did," said Solskjaer after the game. "We hoped for better. But the key moments they grasped and we didn't. They had two fantastic finishes from two left feet, we just didn't take the chances when we had them."
