Overwatch 2 - Could REBOOT Overwatch?! - But at what Cost? New Game or Expansion?

Overwatch was announced 5 years ago...

Overwatch 2 could be the ideal chance to REBOOT Overwatch. Think about it, if Blizzard announce Overwatch 2 at Blizzcon this year, and it's a new standalone game that replaces Overwatch - it could be the ideal opportunity to fix lots of the long standing issues Overwatch has. But at what cost?

Overwatch 2 could either be, a PVE left 4 dead style expansion for Overwatch, or it's a totally new game. What would you prefer. You'd almost certainly lose account progression if it's a new game, but is that a price worth paying?
