Resin Art Coasters with Old CD's - Purple and Gold

Resin Art Coasters with Old CD's - Purple and Gold Coasters made from old CD's. Up-cycling is always a good thing. I enjoy taking something that otherwise might be tossed out and making something useful and beautiful.

I started by adding a 3M Sticker over the hole on both sides of the CD and then giving them a good coat of white spray paint.

Then I mixed up some Pro Marine Resin (1:1 ratio) and added Just Resin pigment paste in Ultra Marine Violet and DecoArt Extreme Sheen 24kt Gold and reserved a small amount of clear resin to put on the CD's first to help the other colors glide across the surface easily.

Just using my stir stick I streamed the Violet and the Gold in random patterns across all four CD's making sure that to cover up all the white surface.

And that's it. These will receive one more coat of clear resin to help make them sturdy and then cork backings and a beautiful unique set of coaster will be ready to grace any beverage.
