The Conference Committee awarded the two best presentations, one by a junior researcher (PhD Fellow) and one by a senior researcher. The awards accompanied by with a prize of €1000 were sponsored and presented by Danfoss and Kamstrup respectively. Maria Jangsten, PhD Fellow at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, won the junior researcher category for her presentation on "High Temperature District Cooling – Possibilities and challenges based on an existing system and its connected buildings".
Prof. Henrik Madsen at Technical University of Denmark, won the award for senior researchers for his presentation on "Perspective in Using Meter Data for Temperature Optimization - Data-Intelligent District Heating Systems"
The 5th International Conference on Smart Energy Systems welcomed 350 people to Copenhagen on 10-11 September 2019. With 180 presentations and a number of side events, the conference maintains its position as one of the world’s largest events on smart energy systems and district heating.
