Brexit, independence key issues for Glasgow voters

Brexit, independence key issues for Glasgow voters (12 Dec 2019) Scottish voters went to the polls on Thursday to vote for who they want to resolve the stalemate over Brexit in a British parliamentary election seen as one of the most important since the end of World War II.

In Scotland the majority of voters voted to remain as part of the European Union in the 2016 Brexit referendum.

For many voters in Glasgow, stopping Brexit and having a another vote in Scottish independence are important factors in deciding which party to vote for.

The contest pits Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who says he will take Britain out of the EU by January 31, against opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn, who promises another referendum on Brexit.
