Gibbon & Siamang Sounds (raw footage B-Reel) V25333

Gibbon & Siamang Sounds (raw footage B-Reel) V25333 Gibbons and Saimangs make some really interesting and LOUD sounds, as can be heard in these basic raw B-reel clips filmed at the Nashville Zoo. It appears that there are two groups of primates on either side of the enclosure, which I believe are Gibbons on one side and Saimangs (a close relative of the Gibbon) on the other, separated by an artificial river/lake that creates a barrier that they cannot cross. In spite of the physical separation, the two groups appear to exhibit territorial threats and behaviors to intimidate each other into staying out of the others space. The result of this is an amazing selection of vocalizations which can be heard loudly throughout the zoo grounds.

Filmed ad-hoc with a smartphone. Note: These clips are NOT listed in the JCMDI online catalog. Please feel free to email us if interested in commercial licensing.
