This is a must when it comes to understanding Merch By Amazon. Content Policies:
1) Research

This what Im really good at and what I love to do. You once you understand the market and see theres a demand.
Where do you do research at? Amazon, Google, Etsy or any other print on demand platform
You want to search for patterns and what you can come up with to unique and different.
2) Design
When I 1st started doing Merch By Amazon I sucked at understanding designs.
Now if you're beginner plain simple all-white text designs do well still but once you start getting better you can start mixing in a graphic/illustration.
Keep the design to only 2 colors
Also illustrations do really well by themselves too
Simple sales at the end of the day
3) Good Title
You want to get 2 long-tail keywords in the title and having the exact phrase in the title with the way Amazon algorithm is important.
If you help the algorithm, the algorithm will help you. Put that on a shirt
It will make a difference in your sales. If you have exact phrases in your title it will make a difference between making a sale in 2 weeks compared to 3 months.
If you make the Amazon algorithm work it will take longer to make a sale. Feed the algorithm what it wants.
It's very important if you understand that. I promise.
4) Pricing
This very important when comes to people in the lower tiers. People think when they get a merch account they can put the price the product ($19.99) and make sales.
It doesn't work that way you need to understand there are people in that niche that are ranking already. So I like to price low and get the product ranking.
1st sale and then bump up to the price of the competition.
Once that happening you can run ams and then mess with the pricing. Something you want to test out. Brings me to my next topic
5) AMS
It seems like Amazon is becoming a pay to play platform more and more.
With that being said I know a few people that just understand the algorithm and know what people search for and don't use AMS lol
One of the best ways to get sales faster is to use AMS and this doesn't mean spent a lot of money fast to get sales. You need understand AMS 1st
Testing is very important here. I would start with low bids until you understand stand it.
Remember you're investing in data that amazon is giving you.
If you understand keywords and this will make it a lot easier and help you spent less money overtime
