A Wild Flip Cup!! (76) Rewarding Abstract Fluid Art | Acrylic Pour Painting

A Wild Flip Cup!! (76) Rewarding Abstract Fluid Art | Acrylic Pour Painting Today, I wanted to do a flip cup acrylic pour. I went for a different method to get the fluid painting cells to pop up. It ended up being very rewarding in the end. So, let's make trippy art!

I also wanted to use the new paints I've picked up recently. I've started getting some better paint brands but also sticking to some that I already like using on a regular. The new colors I got are Grumbacher Prussian blue and Alizarin crimson; and Windsor & Newton Windsor violet and Cadmium yellow medium hue. The Liquitex Basics in Bronze and Cadmium yellow dark hue I already had and added a nice touch to the final painting. I also found that covering the colors in Rheotech Carbon black allowed me to put the Artist Loft Titanium white on the canvas around the cup. Having the white underneath made the colors more vibrant when they popped up through the black.

I love how this came out and that I managed to retain some negative space. The colors mixed so nicely with each other. It makes me excited to get more colors in these brands in the future!

I fight my depression by creating art.

For each painting I eye ball about 40% acrylic paint, 40% Floetrol, 20% water, and 1 - 3 drops of silicon oil in the colors I choose. I sign every piece and cover them with 3 coats of Krylon low-odor, clear gloss spray.

***Please Note: It takes about 30 days for each painting to fully cure. At this, point they are washed with soapy water to remove the silicon residue on the surface. They are then sealed with Krylon Clear Gloss Spray or gloss varnish.***
