Browsing with extra privacy
Tor Browser was created to provide users with extra privacy as they browse online. Developed by the Tor Project, this browser uses the Tor Network to protect your identity and hide your online activity from unwanted eyes.
Privacy
The Tor Network is a set of virtual tunnels that serve to hide your identity by sending traffic through relays in the network first before sending it directly to the Internet. Using the Tor Network relay system, Tor Browser is able to protect its users’ privacy in two ways. First, it will hide a user’s activity from both their Internet service provider and any unsecured local connections. Second, a user’s IP address will be hidden from website operators.
Tor Browser also protects users from website traffic fingerprinting, a practice that tries to determine a user’s identity and preferences through their browsing habits. In addition, it erases all browsing history and cookies at the end of each session.
Security Levels
Tor Browser users can adjust their security levels depending on their preferences. At Standard Level, all Tall Browser and website features are enabled and browsing experience is not affected at all. The Safer level disables JavaScript in some sites, disables some symbols and fonts, and prevents the automatic playing of audio and video files. Finally, the Safest level disables JavaScript, images, and more symbols by default.
A Real Private Browser
At its highest security levels, Tor Browser might affect browsing experience due to it disabling important features like Flash and JavaScript. However, these are customizable by the user. Tor Browser is undoubtedly a great choice for anyone who needs extra privacy online. Its relay system will ensure that your identity is hidden while protecting your data and activity from unwelcome onlookers.
