Salcedo Saturday Market is a community market in Makati, Philippines that was formed in 2005! It meets at the Jaime Velasquez Park of Salcedo Village in Makati city every Saturday from 7AM-2PM and offers a range of fresh produce, food (Filipino and from other cuisines such as Malay, Thai, Mexican, Korean, Italian, etc.), as well as crafts. It is actually quit a small market but packed full with stalls. Be sure to go inside the stalls too, not just walking around it. I tried a lot of Filipino food stalls but if you're a local visiting, know that they have a TON of different kinds of food! Really a foodie heaven.
We stopped by this weekend market in metro Manila before heading to Pampanga. The market is very vegetarian and vegan-friendly with lots of artisanal goods. People were very friendly as well (Filipino hospitality is real :))! Besides the plastic bag to hold the fish, the market itself is more environmentally friendly and had signs everywhere about recycling and reducing plastic waste. It was an awesome market to visit on the weekend!
