Subscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe US Vice President Mike Pence told Venezuelan Ambassador to the United Nations Samuel Moncada that his credentials should be revoked, during his statement to the Security Council in New York on Wednesday.
"This body should revoke the credentials of Venezuela's representative to the United Nations, recognise interim president Juan Guaido and seat the representative of the free Venezuelan Government in this body without delay. With all due respect Mr Ambassador you shouldn't be here. You should return to Venezuela, and tell Nicolas Maduro that his time is up. It's time for him to go," Pence said.
He said it was time for Russia and China to stop using their veto powers to "obstruct the Security Council" and he accused "rogue states like Iran and Cuba" of doing "all they can to prop-up the Maduro regime."
Russian Ambassador Vasily Nebenzia attacked the actions of Washington, saying with "one hand, you're grabbing Venezuela by the throat by introducing still new sanctions and restrictions which prevent the country from developing normally."
"On the other hand, you are also picking the pockets of Venezuelans, you are shamelessly expropriating Venezuelan assets in Western banks, just from the beginning of this year you have taken some $30 billion from the country," Nebenzia added.
