12. Mammoth, Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari, Indiana
The Mammoth slide at the Holiday World and Splashin' Safari was the world's first 6-person raft water slide that covers more than 3 acres, with a length of just under one-third of a mile. There are no steps to climb before boarding the rafts, which makes this slide accessible to everyone, you just climb right in! Riders are propelled uphill in the boats in a similar way to how roller coasters work.

11. The Black Hole, Germany
If you’re looking for a waterslide which is a completely different experience than anything else, then the Black Hole at the Bad 1 Water Park in Bremerhaven, Germany, is the perfect choice. Might be far for most of you, but where else can you go and pretend like you are flying through space, time travelling in a black hole?? Or at least an alternative universe!

10. Bullet Bowl, Beijing
The facilities built for the Olympic Games cost extraordinary amounts of money for a few weeks of events, but most countries are at a loss as to what to do with the structures once the festivities are over. One of the most iconic buildings of the 2008 Beijing Olympics was the Water Cube, and they've now turned the place into a 51 million dollar water park called ‘The Happy Magic Water Cube, Beijing Water Cube Water Park'.

9. Leap Of Faith, Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas
The Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas has everything you’d want from a water park, with countless slides, lazy rivers, waterfalls, lagoons, and more than 50,000 aquatic animals… all within glorious surroundings. But the feature that stands out the most is the 60-foot near-perpendicular slide called the Leap of Faith.

8. Super S Slide, Ocean World, South Korea
With banked twists and turns, the Super S Slide in South Korea’s Ocean World is an extreme ride for all the family. The park itself is split into 5 different zones, but the Super S has been a firm favourite since it opened in 2011.

7. King Cobra, Maxx Royal Belek Golf and Spa, Turkey
King Cobra is a water slide built by Polin Waterparks, with versions in parks around the world. The King Cobra slide is not only fun, but also looks very cool. Like it’s name indicates, it looks like a snake with the stripe design imprinted directly within the fibreglass. Its original black, red, and white scales design looks imposing in any setting.

6. Aquaconda, Aquaventure Water Park, Dubai
The Aquaconda slide, at the Aquaventure Water Park in Dubai, is the world's largest waterslide. It’s 30 feet wide, and takes 6 person rafts through twisted turns and banks from more than 82 feet high and along a 689-foot course. Riders reach speeds of up to 21 miles per hour, but there's more here than initially meets the eye.

5. El Abismo, Mexico
Due to the potential dangers involved, there are very few waterslides that feature true loop-the-loops, but the El Abismo Aqualoop slide at the Ixtapan Parque Aquatico is one of them…FYI El Abismo means “The Abyss” which should give you some indication of what’s about to happen.

4. Tsunami Surge, Hurricane Harbour, Atlanta
Tsunami Surge, at Six Flags Georgia, is billed as the world's first hybrid zero-gravity single slide and features a 5 storey, 54-foot drop for riders before they slide into a 125-foot long whirlpool bowl that spins around 360 degrees.

3. Daredevil’s Peak, Thrill Waterpark, Bahamas
Daredevil's Peak, at Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, is the tallest waterslide in North America. It's a single rider slide, which starts at the top of a 764-foot tower, and features a translucent section near the top, and aqua lucent panels. It takes 35 seconds to traverse the twists and turns as the slide winds around the Daredevil's tower and finishes in a water-soaked run at the end.
