9. Hammerhead Shark
Easily one of the most identifiable sharks in the world today, Hammerhead's can grow up to 20 feet in length and weigh up to 1,000 pounds. They are a species feared throughout their world because of their hunting abilities. This is due in part to their elongated heads. While their protrusions and their oddly placed eyes may seem weird, it's actually an adaptation that allows them to see in all directions all at once, meaning that it's incredibly difficult to get the drop on this shark.

8. Shortfin Mako Shark
Sharks are often known for their speed, but when it comes to the Shortfin Mako Shark, it's in a class of its own. This particular shark is the fastest shark in the waters of the world today. It can swim at a constant speed of 25 miles per hour, and then when it needs to, unleash bursts of speed that are at 46 miles per hour, nearly double its cruising speed.

7. Oceanic Whitetip Shark
Sharks are often viewed as "opportunistic" creatures. Meaning that they'll use any opportunity to catch a prey, regardless of whether they're already being hunted, or the prey is already injured. This line of thinking is exactly why many fear the Oceanic Whitetip Shark.

6. Nurse Shark
Appearances, and names, can be deceiving, and upon hearing the name "Nurse Shark" you might think that this shark is mainly a supportive shark, one that watches over young sharks and aren't that aggressive. But in fact, the Nurse Shark holds the spot at No.4 in regards to documented bites on humans.

5. Requiem Sharks
Among all shark species, the class known as Requiem Sharks are both the biggest unknown in terms of human attacks, and arguably one of the most dangerous. The reason for this is that because Requiem Sharks are so hard to identify (as there are 50 species of them and many look the same), it's hard to place blame on which ones attacked humans over the years.

4. Tiger Shark
In terms of immediate shark threats, the Tiger Shark is one that very well could be the biggest danger. Mainly because the Tiger prefers the feeling of shallow waters in tropical areas. Which means that they like to swim near beaches where people like to inhabit. To that end, in Hawaii, there are at least 3-4 bites from a Tiger Shark on humans every year.

3. Great White Shark
Feared all over the world today, the Great White Shark has the great number of attacks on humans with a staggering 314 cases. Of them, 80 were fatal, giving them a fatality rate of 25%.
To be clear, Great White Sharks do NOT openly hunt human beings, else their attack numbers would be much greater.

2. Bull Shark
It may surprise that the infamous "Jaws" isn't at the top of this list. And if this was just about the numbers, the Great White would be on the top, however, in terms of aggressiveness, many label the Bull Shark as the most aggressive and dangerous shark in the waters of our world today.

1. Megalodon
In ancient times, there was a single shark that dominated the world, and that was the Megalodon. One of the reasons the Megalodon dominated its era was because of its size. It could be up to 60 feet long (and some believe even more than that), and weighed up to 34 metric tons, making it one of the largest predators to ever roam in the waters of our world, regardless of the time period.
