Meaning of THAT'S NEAT - A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF THAT'S NEAT: So at first glance the phrase, "That's neat!", might make you think that we're talking about something that's tidy, or something that's clean, or something that's neat and tidy. And it can mean that, when you say, "That's neat!", you could be looking at your kids room after they spent some time cleaning it up and you could say, "Yeah, I think your room's pretty neat now!" But when we say, "That's neat!", in English most of the time we're just saying, "That's cool!", or, "That's awesome!", or, "I really like that!" So maybe a friend of yours has just had a really good opportunity to go and see a concert. You could say, "Ah! That's neat! I wish I could go with you!" Maybe another friend has just gotten some free shoes and some free clothes from a store, and you would say to them, "That's really neat! I'm so happy for you!"
