Creating an Active Spending Plan (an alternative to creating a budget)

For many people, creating a budget can be a daunting task. That is why I'm recommending an alternative option for those of you that find it difficult to begin budgeting. It's called an Active Spending Plan. With an Active Spending Plan, you can be as detailed as you are comfortable with, but all it takes to get it going is breaking your income into as few as four categories.

Fixed costs, long term investments/spending, savings goals and guilt free spending. If you begin with these, you will feel less of a burden sticking to the plan. You just allocate the appropriate portion to each of the categories, and that's it!

From there, as you become more comfortable with your plan, you can build it out and get more detailed. So no more excuses, start building your Active Spending Plan today!
