To extrapolate on my initial talk of life-ending thoughts, I definitely think they should be taken very seriously and be voiced to a medical professional. However, as someone who has dealt with these thoughts a lot, I have learned to witness them rather than indulge them. The difference is I watch them pop into my mind, and instead of intensely investing energy into those thoughts, I simply witness that they're there without any negative reaction. It's almost like I choose not to listen to them and because they're not given energy, they show up less. So I do occasionally have a life-ending thought pop up into my head, but I know I would never pursue or listen to it. That has been such a big shift for me.
Of course, I am not a licensed therapist or psychologist. These are just my experiences. Thank you for receiving them.
