Caboose on CSX local switching train, brand new railroad crossing installation and Indiana & Ohio Railway huge auto rack freight train. The bay window caboose is used as a shoving platform for a CSX switching train with a remote control locomotive. The new railroad spur being installed is for gravel trains to access Valley Asphalt near Harrison Ohio on the I&O Brookville Branch. Gravel will be shipped from the Melvin Stone near Wilmington, Ohio to this location off of Kilby Rd, west of Cincinnati between Harrison and Cleves. John R Jurgensen Companies owns both and they own the site off Wilmer Ave in Cincinnati where stone trains deliver from Melvin Stone. This video shows the rail being installed at the level crossing using a track hoe and a back hoe. A switch will be installed off the rusty main and track will be laid on the newly built roadbed that is in the video. The roadbed goes back close to a half mile and they could possibly build a loop track at the quarry. The primary customer on this line is Siemer Milling but I have also seen 84 Lumber get boxcars delivered. See my playlist called Indiana & Ohio Railway for more videos on this branch. This video including the auto racks trains was filmed on Thursday, December 5, 2019CE. Thanks for watching my videos!
