Find data proportion higher than given X value | Standard Normal Curve| Leaving Cert Maths |

Find data proportion higher than given X value | Standard Normal Curve| Leaving Cert Maths | Task:
What proportion of cars on this stretch of road would you expect to find travelling at
over 95 km per hour?

Given information:
The data on the speeds of 800 vehicles is normally distributed with an average
speed of 87·3 km per hour and a standard deviation of 12 km per hour.

For a given X value, use the standard normal distribution because it is given that the data is normally distributed.
Here is the stepwise description:

Step1: Find the z sore (value) corresponding to the given X value.
Step2: Find area to the left of of z value.
Step3: Are to the right is 1 minus the area to the left. And this is the required data proportion that is higher than the given X value.
