I've been told I designed the first ever P/J bass, by installing a Pre CBS Jazz Pickup into an existing pre-CBS P Bass, for a P/J bass. Not sure how to document that, but there it is, makes for some good classic rock history. If I wasn't the first, at least I was on the very short list, as I never saw anyone in the '70s with this P/J set up. It was made by a good friend in Jackson, MI. Tony S., he was our guitar tech, back in the day, before we hit it big. Tony would go deep into this basement and come out with some amazing work. RIP Tony.
