FLIGHTS can be stressful at the best of times for some, so spare a thought for the passengers on an Air Canada flight who spotted one the plane’s wheels falling off as the aircraft took off. The incident was captured on a video which is rapidly going viral.
A flight in Canada suffered a mishap last week when a wheel fell off the plane. A shocking viral video captured the moment the landing gear malfunctioned. The incident occurred on an Air Canada Express flight from Montreal to Bagotville on January 3.
Footage of the event was filmed by an alarmed passenger inside the plane with a clear view of the landing gear.

In the video, orange sparks fly out of the centre of the wheel as the aircraft storms down the runway.
Just moments after the plane takes off the wheel appears to come loose.

Suddenly the wheel drops off altogether and shoots off through the air.
The video comes to an end as the passenger filming can be heard reacting to the sight with an intake of breath.

The Dash 8-300 plane had to circle for two hours to burn off fuel.

It then returned to Montreal and landed safely, despite the damage.

There were 52 passengers and crew onboard but no one was hurt.
