AMU Students Ko Dhamki Dene Walo ke liye AMUSU President ka message

For last 3 days, I have been informed by many students that university adminstration is threatening them of dire consequences if they continue to speak against Citizenship Ammendment Act 2019.

Students who are peacefully sitting at Bab e Syed and voicing their protest, and the students who have organised or participated in CAA awareness programs and protests from 8th December are being harassed. University officials are calling their parents and teachers (Supervisors in case of research scholars).

Students are being told that police will take them away, make them disappear or hold an encounter if they do not desist from protests.

Sadly many teachers from proctorial team are reaching out to students with such threats.

I want to inform the Government of the Day, University Officials, Political leaders and Human Rights Groups that if anything untoward happens to students of AMU, the sole responsibilty will lie up current university adminstration.

Many TV channels are running malicious content against AMU students and portraying us as criminals and threat to peace. We condemn such reporting that threatens our lives and future. We want the media bodies to take serious note of such abusive and false reporting.

I want the AMU Teachers' Association and Members of the AMU Court to take serious cognisance of threats and ensure that students are safe.

I am deeply concerned about the safety and security of AMU students.

I want to convey all students that there is no need to fear under such circumstances. Instead, it is the time for resilience and fight back. We need to face all circumstances with strength and unity.

We, the students will not surrender our demands. We have published a 32 page report on the recent state aggression in the university. We will not accept the current dispensation without resign and accountibility.

We call upon AMU Old Boys, AMU Court Members and Our well wishers to stand by us in these tough times.

For the Alma mater, and in the interest of students of this university, if the last drop of our blood in needed, we will not shy away from the sacrifice. AMU and its spaces of dissent are beloved to us. The secular fabric of the nation is beloved to us. We will not allow anyone to destroy AMU or India.

We will fight with the spirit of Freedom Fighters.
