READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF YOU'RE TOO MUCH: So in English, if you say to someone, "You're too much," it usually means you don't like the way they're acting. Maybe they are angry, or maybe they are just too energetic. A really good example of this would be if I was at the doctor's office, and I was in the waiting room, and one of my children was running around and yelling and shouting and just being crazy. I could say to that child, "Hey, stop it. "You're too much. "This isn't the right place to run around "and to act crazy." You might also say this to someone at work. Maybe someone at work is really upset about something, and they're raising their voice and they're just acting a little bit angry. You could say, "Whoa, settle down a little bit. "You're too much right now. "You're too much for me right now. "Please just speak calmly and in a normal voice." So when you say you're too much to someone, it means that you don't appreciate the way they're acting. Now, here's what makes it difficult, though. You can also use this phrase in a positive way. If someone makes me laugh a lot. Let's say I'm at a party and someone is constantly telling me jokes, I could say to them, I could just laugh and say, "Whoa, you're just too much. "You're too much, man. "You are hilarious." So tricky phrase, because it can mean two things. It can mean that you don't like the behavior that someone is demonstrating, or it could mean that you do like it, because it's making you laugh and it's making you happy.
