Voting for the Kimanis parliamentary by-election ended at 5pm on Saturday, January 18, with voter turnout recorded at 76.14 per cent one hour before closing time. The polling process started at 7.30am, and by 9am, 17.19 per cent of voters had cast their ballots. The figure increased to 50.37 per cent by noon.
At 3pm, the Election Commission (EC) recorded a 70.20 per cent turnout, surpassing its target of 70 per cent.
Ballot boxes are expected to be taken to Dewan Datuk Seri Mohd Dun Banir in Beaufort for the counting process, scheduled to begin at 7pm.
