Muslim Sisters in Congress Dismiss 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

Muslim Sisters in Congress Dismiss 9/11 Terrorist Attacks The New York Post received heavy backlash last week after it published a picture of the World Trade Center in flames with a response to the quote from Ilhan Omar’s CAIR speech where she dismisses the terrorist attacks as “something” “some people” did; the headline read “Here’s your something! 2,977 people dead by terrorism.” Many people boycotted the newspaper claiming it would incite anti-Muslim violence. Omar told her Muslim audience at the CAIR event last month to “raise hell,” but one of the leaders of the outcry, Muslim representative Rashida Tlaib, said Ilhan Omar’s words were taken out of context. Rashida then got emotional and “passionate” as she defended Ilhan Omar.

Jesse finished the story about Rashida Tlaib. She explains that Omar is the voice in congress for the LGBTQ, women of color, and immigrants, and that people are just upset that there are Muslim women and refugees in Congress. Rashida then mentions that 70% of Ilhan’s voters were white.
