RV Fireplace Install | Greystone Electric Fireplace 26' | DIY Series

RV Fireplace Install | Greystone Electric Fireplace 26' | DIY Series 🔥 When you live in your RV or Camper Fulltime you can expect there some stuff to wear out and/or break. We are fulltimers in our 2014 Grand Design Solitude 369RL with our 3 boys. It is winter time in Colorado and that means COLD! The fireplace in our Rig is used quite often for a supplemental heat source. A couple of weeks ago we got a whiff of something burning shortly after we turned the fireplace on. We pulled the unit out and began inspecting. The main board on the unit had some signs of overheating and slight melting. At first we thought we would try to repair the unit, but after we unplugged it and saw the plug and outlet had also melted, we decided to replace the whole unit for peace of mind. First we needed to replace the outlet. To see that replacement, click the following link.

🔥 To add a little to everything, when we contacted etrailer.com for a 26" fireplace, all the units they offered were backordered for at least a few weeks. We needed something sooner than that! etrailer.com hooked us up with a great deal though! They had this Greystone 26" Electric Fireplace with Logs (Item 324-000065) that was recently returned because it was damaged in shipment. We immediately said yes to the opportunity to work with etrailer.com and provide this install video for the fireplace. We are DIY people who love the challenge to work on projects and repairs ourselves. We are budget savvy and love to save money wherever possible. If this is also you, you might want to check out the "Deals" section on etrailer.com. Here you can find Scratch & Dent, Open Box, and products with Slight Cosmetic damage at a great price. Inventory is always changing so check back often.

🔥 If you are doing a straight up fireplace swap, this should take you no longer than 15 minutes. For us, it took a bit longer. We had to disassemble the unit in order to glue the logs back together from being damaged prior to us receiving it. The price was right (even if we paid the S&D price). For some slight cosmetic damage, you can have a perfectly functioning product for a fraction of the price. Below you can find the supplies & tools that we used in order to complete this job.
